James Dunn Shaw

Born in May 1900 in Cambuslang, Scotland, he saw action during WW1 with the 19th Battalion DLI. After the war, he served as a Sergeant Instructor in Burma and spent some time as a Recruiting Sergeant before he retired in 1939 to work as a postman.
Recalled at the start of WW2, he served as a Quartermaster in both North Africa and Italy before rejoining the Post Office in 1946. He finally retired with ill-health in 1955. James Shaw died in December 1967, aged 67.
